'Hug a pilot' scheme criticised
Posted 31/10/2011
British Airways has been criticised for a staff scheme telling cabin crew to socialise with pilots on foreign trips.
Dubbed the ‘Hug a Pilot’ scheme on crew web forums, it is being suggested as part of the airline’s Safety Equipment Procedures training programme, reports The Sun.
The aim is to improve the on-board vibe for passengers and bond all crew members together.
BA staff believe it is aimed at restoring relations across the firm after divisive recent industrial disputes.
But furious cabin crew have blasted the move on internet forums.
