Luton airport traffic plans

Posted 01/11/2011

Luton airport is to introduce two new traffic lanes to ease travel delays and prepare for London 2012 Olympics.

Plans to construct two new traffic lanes and create a set down system in the central terminal have been submitted to Luton council for approval.

Glynn Jones, managing director of Luton airport said, “We are now the fifthlargest airport in the UK attracting nearly 10 million passengers a year.

"The plans we have put forward to improve the airport’s road infrastructure will help manage the growth we have generated in recent years at one of the regional economy’s most important assets.”
