Thomson flights hit by Cyprus strikes
Posted 18/11/2011
Thomson Airways was forced to reschedule flights yesterday following strikes by Cypriot baggage handlers on Wednesday.
All customers travelling to the UK were expected home by yesterday evening.
Thomson said customers due to join its cruise ship, Thomson Celebration, in Paphos now have their luggage with them on board the cruise ship, and it set sail from Paphos yesterday evening.
As a result of the disruption, there was a knock-on effect for a small number of flights departing from the UK.
"Thomson Airways apologises for the inconvenience to customers by these events, which unfortunately were out of our control, and appreciates customers’ patience and understanding during the delay," said a spokesman.
