Wizz Air Expands Budapest Base from Mar 2012

Wizz Air on Friday 03FEB12 announced planned service expansion out of Budapest, followed by the announcement of MALEV ceasing operation on the same day.

Service increase will be in effect from March 2012, when the airline bases 2 additional Airbus A320 at BUD, which sees an increase of 66% in terms of capacity, weekly frequency rises from 67 to 129. Details:

Budapest – Barcelona Increases from 3 to 7 weekly
Budapest – Bari Increases from 2 to 3 weekly
Budapest – Bourgas Service resumes with 3 weekly flights
Budapest – Brussels Charleroi Increases from 7 to 14 weekly
Budapest – Bucharest NEW 4 weekly Service
Budapest – Catania Service resumes with 2 weekly flights
Budapest – Corfu Service resumes with 1 weekly flight
Budapest – Dortmund Increases from 2 to 3 weekly
Budapest – Eindhoven Increases from 7 to 13 weekly
Budapest – Frankfurt Hahn Increases from 2 to 3 weekly
Budapest – Gothenburg Increases from 2 to 3 weekly
Budapest – London Luton Increases from 18 to 21 weekly
Budapest – Madrid Increases from 2 to 7 weekly
