Refurbishment Projects at Aruba Airport

Aruba Airport is refurbishing 2 areas in the main terminal to enhance the passenger experience. The Alpha project consisted of a complete overhaul and re-allocation of the Main Security Screening area, including the addition of a 4th lane to enhance the growth in passenger volumes experienced during the past few years, new search area and new offices. A section of the glass panels was also removed to create an open feeling and better passenger flow after passing through the checkpoint. Glass partitions were also installed to separate the screening lanes and the divesting tables from the sterile areas.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) project entails the removal of the old carpets, Automated Passport Control kiosks and old CBP booths, which were replaced by epoxy flooring in the Baggage reclaim and Primary US CBP check areas. New booths were designed for CBP, including a new backdrop partition, which is more streamlined to their new Biometric operation to provide a faster service to the US bound pax.

The area also received a fresh paint coat and will soon receive a complete wall wrap with an Aruban Scenery. The projects are set to be completed by the end of the month.
