American Airlines extends connection to Philadelphia

Long-haul flight has been successfully established

American Airlines is extending their long-haul connection from Berlin to Philadelphia in summer 2020 – the airline will be flying daily from Berlin-Tegel to the US east coast between 6 June and 7 October 2020. Flights are now available to book.

Prof. Dr.-Ing Engelbert Lütke Daldrup, Chief Executive Officer of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH: "The significant increase of the Berlin – Philadelphia connection from the current four flights per week to a daily connection is evidence that the new long-haul route has quickly been successfully established. Berlin is an attractive market for long-haul routes. The opening of BER in October 2020 will make it even more interesting for airlines to offer long-haul routes to and from Berlin. That is good for the region in a touristic and economic sense".

Cristian Lizana, Regional Sales Manager for Central and Eastern Europe at American Airlines: "We are very pleased that American Airlines will be increasing its flights from Berlin to Philadelphia to a daily connection from summer 2020 onwards. The success that we have had in our first year in the German capital is evidence of the great support that we have received here in Berlin and we look forward to being able to welcome even more passengers on this flight next year".

From Philadelphia, the largest American Airlines hub in north-eastern USA, travellers have numerous connection options: up to four hours after arriving from Berlin, American Airlines offers connecting flights to 60 destinations in the USA and Canada, including Miami, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, Orlando, Seattle and Atlanta. In addition, American Airlines is a member of the Oneworld Alliance and cooperates with British Airways, Cathay Pacific and Qantas, amongst others.
