Vnukovo International Airport again won the national award “Air Gate of Russia”
For the third year in a row, Vnukovo International Airport was recognized as the leader in the highest category “Best Airport” (in the category of over 15 million passengers a year) of the “Air Gate of Russia” award, which was held as part of the VII National Aviation Infrastructure Show NAIS-2020. Alexander Neradko, the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency, presented the award to the Director-General of Vnukovo Airport Dmitry Saprykin.
In 2018, Vnukovo Airport was named the best in the nomination “International Airport with a passenger flow of more than 10 million passengers a year”, in 2019 - “International Airport with a passenger flow of more than 15 million passengers a year. By the end of last year, Vnukovo Airport set a new record, exceeding the passenger flow line of 24 million.
Receiving the award, Dmitry Saprykin, the Director-General of Vnukovo International Airport, expressed his gratitude for the recognition of the achievements not only of the airport’s top managers but also the entire enterprise team of many thousands. He also noted that the airport’s plans did not stop there, but strive for new heights.
On this day, Dmitry Saprykin also presented awards to the partner of Vnukovo Airport - Turkish Airlines, which became the leader in the categories “Best Loyalty Program for Passengers among Foreign Airlines” and “Best Economy Class among Foreign Airlines.” Another partner of Vnukovo - the airline “Rossiya” received an award in the nomination “The best airline in tourist destinations.”
In addition to the Air Gate of Russia Award, the Skyway Service Award was presented at the NAIS Forum.
At the exhibition dedicated to the development of the infrastructure of airports, airfields, helipads, and civil aviation of Russia and the CIS countries, Vnukovo Airport traditionally presented themselves at a joint stand with a long-term partner - Turkish Airlines. At this event, Vnukovo Airport showed its updated corporate identity: the stand design introduced a new logo and identity elements. The new interactive airport layout, located at the exhibition stand, demonstrated the prospective reconstruction of the station square and the upcoming integration of the airport into the transport infrastructure of the capital: new multi-level parking and Vnukovo metro station of the Kalinin-Solntsevskaya line, which is currently under construction.
Besides, the official catering “Sky Food Vnukovo” offered its guests a wide assortment and organized culinary masterclasses for everyone.
Russian Transport Minister Yevgeny Dietrich visited the Vnukovo airport stand and asked some questions about plans for the development of the airport. Dmitry Saprykin, Director-General of Vnukovo Airport, answered the Minister’s questions.
The NAIS Forum hosts various meetings and conferences. Over 120 participants representing the latest technologies and products for the development of the aviation industry, and more than 4000 civil aviation infrastructure professionals from 63 regions of Russia and 30 countries of the world attended the business program.
At the plenary session “Development of the interregional aviation route network as a driver of the economic growth of Russian territories”, reports were presented by Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Alexander Yurchik, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Oleg Bocharov, head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Alexander Neradko and others. Director of Information Technology at Vnukovo International Airport Alexei Gurevich moderated at the conference “Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies in the Air Industry”. At the conference “Effective Strategies for the Development and Management of Airports,” Dmitry Khartunyan, Production Director of JSC “Vnukovo International Airport,” made a report “Airport of the future - the main development trends.”
NAIS is the largest exhibition in Russia and the CIS dedicated to the development of civil aviation infrastructure, which is held with the support and participation of the aviation authorities of the Russian Federation: the Ministry of Transport of Russia, the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviation). Each year, NAIS hosts on its space Russian and foreign exhibitors - manufacturers and suppliers of solutions for the aviation industry, as well as delegations from more than 100 airports and airlines in Russia and the CIS. The event is timed to the Day of the Civil Aviation Worker of Russia.
Vnukovo International Airport is one of the largest air transport complexes in Russia. Annually, the airport serves about 200 thousand flights of Russian and foreign airlines. The route network of the airport covers the entire territory of Russia, as well as neighboring countries, Europe, America, Asia, and Africa. In 2018, Vnukovo International Airport broke a historical record and served 21 million 478 thousand passengers, which is 18.4% or 3 million 340 thousand passengers more than in 2017.
The airport complex Vnukovo has a total area of about 300 thousand square meters. Vnukovo airport is able to provide capacity of up to 35 million passengers per year.
Vnukovo International Airport, the only one among the airports of Russia, received the award of the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin for his labor success and highly professional performance.
In addition, Vnukovo Airport was recognized as the best airport in the category “International Airport with passenger traffic of over 10 million passengers per year” of the national award “Air Gate of Russia” as part of the V National Aviation Infrastructure Show NAIS-2018. In 2019, Vnukovo Airport was recognized again as the best airport in the category “International Airport with passenger traffic of over 15 million passengers per year”.
