Vueling to expand at Stockholm Arlanda and Göteborg Landvetter – will launch two new direct routes from Sweden to Paris

1st October update:

The Spanish low cost carrier Vueling is adding to its range of services available between Sweden and France and will launch a new direct route from both Stockholm Arlanda and Göteborg Landvetter to the French capital in November.

Spanish-based Vueling Airlines, which is part of International Airlines Group (IAG), is expanding its range of routes at Stockholm Arlanda and Göteborg Landvetter by adding another route and launching direct service to Paris Orly Airport. The new routes will complement the existing range of flights available from Sweden and provide even easier access to the French capital.

Travellers can currently fly from Stockholm Arlanda to Paris Charles de Gaulle and, starting October 21, will also be able to fly to Paris Orly.

Travellers can currently fly non-stop from Göteborg Landvetter to Paris Charles de Gaulle. The new service to Paris Orly will now provide a low cost alternative to travellers in western Sweden.

The Paris Orly airport is located south of Paris, scarcely 20 km from the city centre. Paris is quite a favourite destination for Swedes, and there was stable growth in traffic for a number of years prior to the pandemic in both Stockholm and Gothenburg.

The majority of pre-pandemic passengers were tourists who remained in Paris, but a significant share transferred and continued on to other destinations. Some 30,000 Swedes live in the Paris metropolitan area. A large proportion of passengers were international travellers who did not live in Sweden. Both Stockholm and Gothenburg are popular destinations for French tourists.

The new direct route Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) – Paris Orly Airport (ORY) will launch on November 3, with three weekly departures on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays using an Airbus A321 aircraft type.

The new direct route Göteborg Landvetter Airport (GOT) – Paris Orly Airport (ORY) will launch on November 5. The timetable offers good opportunities for weekend trips, with two weekly departures on Mondays and Fridays using an Airbus A321 aircraft type.

Vueling Airlines has had operations in Sweden since 2012 and currently offers daily non-stop service to Barcelona from Arlanda and two weekly departures from Landvetter. For tickets and more information: vueling.com

Swedavia also works actively to promote the switch to biofuel and has the goal that five per cent of all fuel used for refuelling at Swedish airports shall be fossil-free by 2025.
