The Portuguese Air Force on a humanitarian operation for Madeira Island
In order to carry personal protective equipment, disinfectant gel related to COVID-19, to Madeira, the Portuguese Air Force carried the cargo in one of squad airplanes “elephant”.
The Portuguese Air Force has already transported eight tons of material to the Madeira archipelago to support the fight against this pandemic.
In direct support missions to the population, the Portuguese Air Force has also transported patients from Madeira and Azores archipelagos the mainland and also organs for transplant.
