airberlin is now going one better: as of mid-April there will be two flights a day from Graz to the German capital.

Feldkirchen/Graz, 11/03/2015: Double daily service to kick off on 13 April, with two daily flights from Berlin to Graz and back from Monday to Friday. The flights will be operated once a day at the weekend.

With five additional weekly flights commencing on Monday, 13 April between Graz and Berlin, airberlin is optimising services particularly for business passengers, thus implementing improved connections, for example to Abu Dhabi, Warsaw, Kaliningrad and now also Billund.

“I am delighted that we can offer our Austrian guests these additional flights between Graz and Berlin. These additional links will be particularly interesting for business travellers, with improved connections as of 13 April for example to Abu Dhabi, Warsaw, Kaliningrad and now also Billund in Denmark”, says Götz Ahmelmann, Chief Commercial Officer of airberlin.

Deputy Provincial Governor Hermann Schützenhöfer: “Germany’s second-biggest airline provides perfect links from the provincial capital Graz to the most important foreign market for Styria province. The positive development in recent years shows very clearly that Germans are extremely fond of the “Green Heart” of Austria. Maintaining good international connections is vital for Styria as a centre of business, knowledge and tourism“

City Councillor Univ. Doc. DI Dr. Gerhard Rüsch: “We are delighted about the new flight schedule with morning and evening connections to Berlin. As a City of Design in the Unesco Creative Cities Network, this facilitates exchange with our network partner Berlin and it will also benefit Graz as a business location and tourist destination.”

More than sixty destinations can now be reached from Graz via the Berlin hub thanks to the excellent airberlin connections:
Scandinavia (Helsinki, Keflavík, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Copenhagen and Billund) and the Baltic states (Riga) in cooperation with Air Baltic
Poland (GdaƄsk, Warsaw and Kraków), Russia (Moscow and Kaliningrad) and the Czech Republic (Prague)
Various flight destinations in Germany
London Heathrow in cooperation with British Airways
Abu Dhabi with worldwide connections, e.g. to Sydney, Bangkok and Kathmandu

Erich Neuhold, Managing Director of Steiermark Tourismus: “The international connections via the aviation hub Berlin are tremendously important, after all, Berlin doesn’t just allow us to target the Berlin-Brandenburg market but also long-haul destinations coming to Central Europe – and thus to Styria – via the central hub in Berlin from all over Europe and overseas.“

“The morning service and the new daily connection make Berlin Airport the ideal base for our passengers and for the business world to reach more than sixty new destinations in a matter of a few hours”, according to the Chairman of the Board of Holding Graz Dipl.-Ing. Wolfgang Malik.
