Turkish Airlines increases flights between Graz and Istanbul (Press release 10/2/2016)

Starting on 18 June 2016 there will be a daily flight between Graz and the metropolis on the Bosphorus.

Feldkirchen bei Graz, 04/02/2016: Just under a year after the services between Istanbul and Graz kicked off, the number of flights is being upped from 4 to 7 a week.

“As Turkish Airlines, the airline that flies to most countries, we are very happy with the service and therefore confident that the additional flights starting on 18 June will be well received by passengers at Graz Airport.
The flights will connect passengers flying from Graz Airport with Africa, the Middle East and Far East. Turkish Airlines remains the gateway to the world for all passengers from Graz”, Hüseyin Güzel, General Manager of Turkish Airlines in Graz is convinced.

Provincial Councillor Dr. Christian Buchmann: “Being reachable by road, rail and air is crucial for the Styrian business world. The additional service between Graz and Istanbul put on by Turkish Airlines is an extremely positive signal for the business location. It offers our exporting companies even better access to key future markets and thus also creates opportunities for safeguarding and creating jobs.”

Flight times on the additional days, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, allow passengers to make even better use of many of the approximately 280 connecting flights operated by Turkish Airlines from Istanbul.

Mayor Siegfried Nagl: “Figures for tourism, above all conference tourism, in Graz are more than gratifying. The Turkish Airlines connection via Istanbul is particularly important in order to bring international visitors, above all from Asia, to Graz. I am therefore extremely pleased to have our Turkish partners flying here now on a daily basis!”

“A daily connection to the major transfer airport in Istanbul is an important step towards increasing the international reach of tourism and business, not only for Styria but for the entire catchment area of Graz Airport”, Wolfgang Malik, Chairman of the Board of Holding Graz and Gerhard Widmann, Managing Director of Graz Airport, agree.
