Air France direct flights to Muscat

1st July update:

Oman Airports are pleased to announce further new services to be operated from Muscat Airport. In October of this year, Air France will commence regular direct services from Paris. The new route is scheduled to operate from the 31st October 2021, with the service operating three times weekly departing from Paris on Sunday and returning from Muscat on Monday.

Air France will operate their fleet of modern Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft on the Muscat route, which will provide 279 seats available in three travel classes: Business, Premium Economy and Economy.

The new flight is a welcome to Oman and will provide an important link between the two capital cities. There are strong cultural and economic ties between the two countries that have been built up over centuries, and the introduction of direct flights will further strengthen these by provide more choice and connectivity helping to increase the number of business and leisure passengers in both directions.

France is one of the key markets for tourists visiting Oman, and pre-Covid there were 68,000 annual visitors in 2019. And with Paris one of the cultural and tourism capitals of the world, the route will open up access for Omanis looking to enjoy the sights of Paris as well as to explore further afield in France.

In addition, travellers from Oman will be able to access from Paris a broad route network across Europe and over the Atlantic to North and South America operated not only by Air France but also their partner airlines in the SkyTeam Alliance.

The service will also complement the existing operations by Oman Air between Muscat and Paris, and will also add to the existing SkyTeam presence in Muscat Amsterdam service provided by Air France’s partner KLM.

Commenting on the new services Shk. Samer Al Nabhani, Chief Commercial Officer at Oman Airports stated “Muscat Airport has continued to recover strongly in recent months and this exciting news builds on this growth and reinforces the strong links between Oman and France. We look forward to welcoming Air France to Muscat in October” .
