A new service from Chopin Airport to Gothenburg

The holiday season is slowly coming to an end. However, it does not mean that passengers are less interested in flying, nor does it mean that air traffic at the Warsaw airport will drop. Quite the opposite. New services are launched.

Since last Tuesday, all Scandinavia enthusiasts can take advantage of a new destination from Chopin Airport – flight to Gothenburg. The flights are operated by the biggest national carrier, LOT Polish Airlines, 6 times per week (departures: Monday through Friday and Sunday at 19:35, arrivals: Monday through Saturday, about 9:40).

The second half of September will see the launch of a new connection by a Hungarian low-cost airline, Wizzair. There will be four flights per week between Warsaw and Vilnius. Wizzair is the second airline, after LOT, to fly on this route.

"New connections will certainly increase the number of passengers served by the airport. It should be remembered that July was the month, when Chopin Airport recorded the highest ever monthly number of checked-in passengers (over 1.7 million people; 8.6 million since the beginning of the year)," said Hubert Wojciechowski, the director of the Marketing and PR Bureau at Chopin Airport.
