In September 2019, the Warsaw Chopin Airport handled 1 million 879 thousand people. It is 3,1 percent more than in the same period last year.

From the beginning of this year, more than 13 million people (an increase of 5.3 percent) traveled in international traffic, and 1 million 302 thousand in domestic traffic. In total, Chopin Airport has already served 14 million 345 thousand people, it is 4.8 percent more than in the same period last. Such good results clearly confirm the role of Chopin Airport as an important hub in Central Europe, which constantly maintains a high position on the map of international airports. After launching connections to Delhi, the Warsaw Chopin is one of three in our region that offers direct flights to the Indian subcontinent.

Regular flights to Colombo (3 times a week from November 3rd) will be another direct long-haul routes from Warsaw. Furthermore the effect of adding Poland to the visa waiver program is the next long-distance route from Warsaw to the San Francisco (USA). It will be 16 of this type in the Chopin Airport portfolio. The PLL LOT planes to fly to San Francisco from 08/05/2020 (four times a week).

Moreover from October 27th 2019 LOT Polish Airlines will start direct flights from Warsaw to Bydgoszcz. Nine scheduled flights per week have been planned so as to match the LOT Polish Airlines network to allow convenient connections for passengers from the largest city of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship to European destinations. Among domestic connections, it is also worth mentioning Lublin - on this route the frequency of flights will increase from the winter season 2019/20 to 9 times a week, which - as in the case of Bydgoszcz - will conveniently provide transfer opportunities at Chopin Airport.
