Chopin Airport closes another month with record results

The October results of Chopin Airport are a clear confirmation of the role of the capital's airport as an important transfer point in Central Europe, which constantly maintains a high position on the map of international air connections.

In October 2019 year over 1 million 689 thousand people chose Chopin Airport. It is 8.1% more than in the same period last year. From the beginning of 2019, approximately 11.305 million passengers were scheduled at Chopin Airport. About 2.739 million passengers benefited from low-cost traffic. Charter connections were chosen by approximately 1,989 million people.

From January to the end of October 2019, 14 million 572 thousand people traveled from Chopin Airport in international traffic, and 1 million 462 thousand passengers in domestic traffic. In total, 16.034 million people have already used the services of the capital's port, an increase of 5.1% compared to the same period last year. Most passengers - 59.3% traveled in the Schengen area, and 40.7% chose Non-Schengen countries. To date (from January to the end of October) London is the most popular scheduled destination (over 861 900 passengers), while for non-scheduled operations Antalya (over 254 00 people).

It is also worth noting the increase (in January-October 2019) in the cargo, which includes the transport of cargo on board all aircraft (79 907.4 tons - increase by 4.4%), as well as the transport of mail on board all ships by air (13,380.9 tons - increase by 5.3%).
