Located in Southwest China, Kunming has a population of over 46million and is the capital and largest city in the Yunnan Province as well as a popular holiday resort in China due to a mild average temperature of about 15°C.


Kunming is rich in history – visit temples, dating over 1000 years old, historic structures and museums. Practice taichi with the locals in the grand parks nearby or visit the legendary Stone Forest.


With a history spanning over 2000 years, Kunming is known as the ‘Spring City’ and is one of China’s most laid-back cities. Enjoy a trip through the previously old walled city or enjoy the sights of the cosmopolitan modern commercial district and university areas.


Kunming is of great economic importance and a substantial trade centre due to its position near the border with a number of South-eastern Asian countries, serving Vietnam, Burma and Laos. Key manufacturing Industries include copper, chemicals, machinery, textiles, paper and cement.
