Adelaide Hills

Take a scenic drive through the picturesque Adelaide Hills and in to the historic township of Hahndorf. 

On the edge of town, a stop at Beerenberg Farm shop will have the tastebuds tingling as you hear about this 6th generation family business and have a chance to taste some of their delicious sauces, condiments and jams.

Some free time in Hahndorf will give you a chance to stroll the tree-lined main street and discover shops, galleries and studios, a cheese maker, leathersmith, jeweller, candle makers, a craft brewery, winery cellar doors, gin distillery, chocolatier, traditional sweet shops, restaurants and cafés. 

 Enjoy a two-course lunch at one of this villages most popular restaurants.

 Time next to get that happy snap at Mount Lofty Summit; the peak of the Mount Lofty Ranges in the Adelaide Hills. The summit provides spectacular panoramic views across Adelaide's city skyline to the coast and is the perfect place for a picture. 

 The award-winning Cleland Wildlife Park is one of South Australia’s must-see attractions. Located in a beautiful natural bushland setting, Cleland offers visitor’s a range of opportunities to discover over 130 species of Australian wildlife. Many animals are free-roaming in the 35-hectare park, creating wonderful impromptu chances to touch and interact with the native wildlife. You can even hold a koala and have this special experience captured with a souvenir photo (conditional & additional fees apply).

Barossa

Monday 23 September, 8:45am – 5:30pm (approx.), $180.00 per person

A trip to the Barossa Valley is a must for anyone visiting South Australia.  While best known for its wine, there is a gourmet food scene that is equally as delicious.

In a small group, you will first travel to the Barossa and stop off at the Barossa Cheese Co.  A haloumi cooking demonstration will get your mouth watering before you begin the day with a paired cheese and wine tasting.

Maggie Beer is an icon of Australian cooking.  Visiting her farm shop, you can sample an array of delights.  They encourage visitors to wander around the shop and take the opportunity to taste all the products; in fact, this is the only place in Australia where you have the chance to see and try just about every product in the Maggie Beers range.

You will need to save room after your visit to the Farm Shop for lunch at The Farm Eatery.  Led by Maggie’s youngest daughter Elli and Chef Tim Bourke, you will enjoy a private dining experience with the “trust us” menu…an ever-changing seasonal menu that is sure to delight.

Lined by distinctive palm trees, the drive to Seppeltsfield vineyard is almost as picturesque as the cellar door itself. Join one of the property’s wine educators on a private tour and tasting for a behind the scenes look through the Estate’s treasure trove of historical buildings and spectacular surroundings. Learn of the Seppelt family history and their profound influence on the Australian wine industry.

South Australia is a melting pot of some of the best food and drinks around.  In this full day tour, you will get to experience the diversity of Adelaide’s cuisine and wine & spirit culture.

Start your day at the Central Market; Australia’s oldest and largest fresh produce hub.  Here you will enjoy a sensory interactive, gourmet experience, giving you an opportunity to eat delicious tastings that represent the premium food grown and produced in South Australia.   

Choose your own adventure lunch with Central Market Money vouchers.  With cuisine from all over the world to choose from, you will find plenty of food to tantalise your tastebuds.

After lunch it’s time for a unique cruising experience on Adelaide’s River Torrens. 

Prohibition Liquor and Popeye have teamed up for a private Gin Cruise, celebrating award winning South Australian Gin and combining it with glorious surrounds and great company, all while cruising along in the heart of the city.

Learn the secrets behind how they create their gin, how to best enjoy it and then create your own concoction while you cruise along the river.  You will also enjoy, a tasting flight of three of Prohibitions best gins with a 45-minute talk focusing on the best way to enjoy them.

Your day is not over yet though with a visit to the wine hub of Adelaide.  The National Wine Centre of Australia is a public exhibition building about winemaking and its industry in South Australia, opened in 2001. It contains an interactive permanent exhibition of winemaking, introducing visitors to the technology, varieties and styles of wine. Choose a wine tasting that suits you from some of South Australia’s premium regions to finish off your Gourmet Adelaide tour.
