The visa invitation letter request process is now open for Routes Silk Road 2019. Most international visitors to Kazakhstan will require a visa, excluding citizens from 60 countries, listed here:
Visas must be obtained prior to arrival. For details of entry requirements to Kazakhstan and for an application form you should contact the nearest Embassy or Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan in good time before your departure.
A 90-day single-entry visa can be issued within five working days. We urge you to apply for your visa at the earliest convenience.
An overview on visa requirements for entering Kazakhstan is accessible here:
Another important issue is registration at the immigration police upon arrival in Kazakhstan. Depending on your citizenship, one of the following three rules are applicable:
- Registration should be obtained within five days of arrival;
- After 30 days of stay;
- Registration is not required; two stamps are put upon arrival.
Visa Invitation Letter
Embassies may require a letter of invitation to accompany the visa application form. This will come from our host, Astana Convention Bureau. If a visa invitation letter is required, please complete the electronic request form on Routesonline ensuring accuracy throughout to avoid delays.
Most embassies and consulates accept a scanned copy of the invitation letter and therefore the Astana Convention Bureau will issue the letters to applicants via email as an attachment. If your embassy or consulate does not accept an electronic copy, please select the relevant format on the application form.
Please note: invitation letters will only be issued to individuals registered to attend the event. Should you have any questions relating to visas or the visa invitation letter procedure please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
