Buzz Aldrin to speak at inaugural ATC Global VIP Networking Dinner

It was the most remarkable, out-of-this world landing of all time. And the pilot of the Apollo 11 Lunar Module which touched down on the Moon on July 20, 1969 will be at the ATC Global VIP Networking Dinner on March 6 to share some of his memories of the past and views on the future of aviation.
Buzz Aldrin, who flew combat missions during the Korean War and is a Doctor of Science in astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology will be the keynote speaker at the inaugural ATC Global VIP Networking dinner, to be held in the Grand Elicium Ballroom at the Amsterdam RAI on Tuesday, 6 March. Attendance to this prestigious event is by invitation only and for ATC Global’s valued conference delegates, VIPs and ANSP CEOs.
“We believe this industry’s importance to the aviation community and the global economy as whole is slowly being understood,” said event director Paula Milburn. “It’s an industry built on safe, reliable and increasingly exciting technologies. The fact that Buzz Aldrin will be joining us in Amsterdam is a celebration of the progress we are making in turning once-fanciful dreams of connecting the world into an everyday reality.”

This year we have added new features that have been developed in response to industry feedback, one of which is the VIP Networking Dinner. It will provide the perfect opportunity for peer to peer networking amongst the industry’s elite. This high calibre networking event is destined to be the social highlight of the year,” said Paula.
The evening will commence with a drinks reception featuring live music and entertainment, followed by a three-course dinner and a speech from Buzz Aldrin.
Value extended even further
Although customer satisfaction was at an all-time high in 2011, the ATC Global team has, in addition to the dinner, focused on adding more value to the visitor and exhibitor experience.
The free education programme offers more than 40 seminars and workshops, many of them significant in the global ATM calendar. There will be a networking drinks reception, sponsored by NATS, on Wednesday, 7 March and for the first time ever, visitors will be invited to participate in the last conference session on 7 March: The Great Public Debate. “We understand how important it is to engage everyone in conversation about the future of the industry, hence our decision to open the debate to all,” said Paula.
ATC Global will also be hosting and supporting senior level delegations from all over the world through the new VIP Programme, to facilitate meetings between ANSP CEOs, suppliers and equipment buyers. “Commitment to providing the international ATM industry with an event which drives business and global collaboration is our number one priority,” said Paula.
Additional investment has also been made into the overall customer experience, from the introduction of the online event planner where visitors and delegates can now plan their visit to ATC Global 2012 in advance, to a partnership with Schiphol Airport which will potentially include an ATC Global welcome desk in the Arrivals halls.
