New West Coast service for Allegiant Air

Oakland, California to Bellingham, Washington

In a first for the US West Coast, Allegiant Air will launch a new non-stop twice-weekly service between Oakland International Airport (OAK) and Bellingham International Airport (BLI), a gateway to BritishColumbia, Canada, from February 2, 2009.

These flights mark the first-ever nonstop flights between OAK and BLI in Washington State.

"For the first time, nonstop flights will soon be available from Oakland International to Bellingham, Washington," says Steve Grossman, director of aviation for the Port of Oakland.

"Travellers will have a convenient link between the San Francisco Bay Area and Bellingham, a key gateway to Vancouver and the growing Pacific Northwest region. The service is timely as the number of visitors from Canada to the United States has significantly increased in recent months and the flights will have a positive impact on tourism-related industries," he adds.
