Route Exchange Airline Briefings Announced for Routes Europe

This year’s Routes Europe event which will take place on 12-14 May 2013 will see the Route Exchange Airline Briefings Programme build on the strength of last year’s event with more briefings planned than at any previous Routes Europe event.

Now in its 8thyear, Routes Europe is the only network planning forum for the entire European region and the 2013 event, hosted by Budapest Airport, will take place in Budapest, the beautiful historic capital of Hungary. Routes Europe brings together over 800 delegates from airports, airlines, tourism authorities and other industry stakeholders from across Europe to discuss air service development.

The Route Exchange Airline Briefings, given by senior network planners, are an opportunity for attending airports to gain an overview of the carriers, allowing them to view, first-hand, what information the airline requires from the airports when making route proposals.

The event is still two months away and already four carriers from the region have confirmed that they will deliver a briefing outlining the route development opportunities that exist and how airports can be part of their airline expansion with further briefings expected to be announced over the coming weeks.

Neil Slaven, Network Development Manager for easyJet will deliver a Route Exchange briefing discussing the carrier’s plans and requirements for winter 2013 and beyond whilst Miguel Oliver, Network Development Director for Air Nostrum will discuss how one of largest regional airlines in Europe plans to grow its international presence.

FlyGeorgia, the second national airline of Georgia, headquartered in Tbilisi is a new, privately owned airline. In this briefing Shiin Thomas , Commercial Director will outline how FlyGeorgia has gone from strength to strength since beginning operations in 2012, overview the carrier’s fleet plans and explain how airports can be part of the airlines future growth strategy. The fourth briefing will come from SkyWork Airlines’ CEO, Tomislav Lang who will discuss how the Berne based carrier will expand with its Dornier 328 and Q400 aircraft.

Places are limited and airport delegates should contact Simon Baxendale or Kirsty Studholme to add briefings to your diary of pre-scheduled meetings.
