WORLD ROUTES: Vantage Airport Group Celebrates Hamilton - Montego Bay Link

The Vantage Airport Group celebrated enhanced connectivity between it's own airports during World Routes when it organised an official cake cutting ceremony to mark the introduction of flights between Hamilton, Canada and Montego Bay, Jamaica later this year.

The new weekly non-stop flight between John C Munro International Airport in Hamilton, Ontario and Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica will launch on December 22, 2013 and will be flown by Canadian leisure carrier Air Transat every Sunday utilising one of its recently acquired Boeing 737-800s.

“Southern Ontario sun seekers will have the opportunity to escape Canadian winters and enjoy the beaches, resorts and other fun activities available in Jamaica,” said Lee Lipton, director of air service marketing at Vantage Airport Group. “Working with our 11 network airports, we help identify market opportunities and forge strong relationships with our airline partners that translate into win-win situations for our airports, communities and passengers.”

Hamilton International Airport serves a catchment area of 2.2 million people and is a convenient departure point for those seeking a winter getaway. Montego Bay’s Sangster International is a sun destination that is also the gateway airport to such popular destinations as Negril and Ocho Rios in Jamaica.

“We’re thrilled to offer another new destination to our southern Ontario customers,” said Frank Scremin, president and CEO, Hamilton International Airport. “Partnering with an airport that’s within the Vantage network is unique and ensures that we deliver the best possible experience to our passengers.”

Vantage Airport Group is an industry-leading investor, developer and manager of airports around the globe with a current portfolio of 11 airports on three continents. The company was established some 20 years ago by Vancouver Airport Authority to take the management principles and best practices honed at the airport to others around the world.
