Routes Silk Road 2014 – Reasons to attend

Routes Silk Road 2014 will take place from 6 – 8 July in Tbilisi, Georgia attracting the highest level of senior decision makers within aviation and is the essential event for all those interested in meeting with the industry's key players to discuss air service development to, from and within the entire Silk Road region.

Routes Silk Road is the route development forum that connects CIS, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia. The event, which will be held for the first time instead of Routes CIS is expected to attract around 300 delegates. Offering airports, airlines, tourism authorities and other stakeholders the perfect platform to do business and improve air transport networks.

Now only three weeks away, currently over 30 airlines, represented by over 40 senior delegations, have confirmed their attendance at the event in Tbilisi. A number of airlines from across the Silk Road region have registered including Aeroflot Group, Ukraine International Airlines, Azerbaijan Airlines and Etihad Airways, in addition to a number of low cost carriers from Europe such as easyJet and Wizz Air.

50 airport delegates representing 30 airports have also registered to attend the event. During the last two weeks new registrations have been received from a number airports and the most recent registrations include; Tbilisi International Airport, Airports of Regions, Aeroports de Paris, Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport, Vnukovo Airport Moscow, Minsk National Airport, TAV Airports and Swissport Russia. In addition to the Face-to-Face Meetings which are at the heart of the event, Routes Silk Road will open with the Routes Silk Road Strategy Summit, which will take place over two days. Many high level industry speakers will take part in the Strategy Summit including; Yevgen Treskunov, EVP Strategy and Development, Ukraine International Airlines; Iase Zautashvili, General Director, Georgian Airways; Dr Kostas Iatrou, Managing Director, AirTransportNews; Vladimir Kamynin, Aviation Business Development Director, Airports of Regions; Mete Erkal, General Manager, TAV Georgia; Vasili Kornev, Deputy Managing Director of Operations, Minsk National Airport; John Bell, an International journalist, broadcasting expert and tourism consultant; Arman Khachaturyan, CEO, National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia; Yolanta Strikitsa, Managing Director, Strikitsa Consulting; Joni Sundelin, Senior Vice-President, Airport Network & Marketing, Finavia and Daniel Burkard, Director of External & International Relations and Deputy Airport Director at Domodedovo Moscow Airport.

Route Exchange Airline Briefings will also be taking place over the course of the event, open exclusively to attending airport and tourism authority delegates. Held in private theatres on the show floor and delivered by senior network planners, Route Exchange Airline Briefings provide delegates with an opportunity to gain an insight into their target & current airline partners’ business.
