Brussels Airlines add 6 destinations in 2015

The carrier has introduced routes to St-Petersburg, Dubrovnik, Calvi, Lourdes, Olbia and Billund as well as service increases on its Tel Aviv, Malta, Seville, and Faro routes.

The Billund route will launch on March 29, 2015 with a twice daily offering to the Danish Jutland region, and will be served by Flybe’s Dash-8 Q400 aircraft. The Dubrovnik route will be served twice a week, expanding the airline’s Southern European flight offering and becoming the second route to Croatia- with the capital (Zagreb) already served by the carrier.

Weekly flights to Calvi (Corsica) and Olbia (Sardinia) will be added to the summer timetable. Lourdes will be served twice a week between 11 May and 25 September.

The St Petersburg route will be served three times per week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and will be the first direct route from Belgium to the Russian city.

The airline will be increasing its services to Malta- a route which launched last summer; to operate twice weekly between April and October. More flights are also to be added between Brussels Airport and Tel Aviv next summer, with the destination being served twice daily. The Faro route will be operated six times weekly instead of five, and Seville will be operated four times a week instead of three.

To accompany the new routes, Brussels airlines last week opened ‘The Loft’- its new Business Class lounge at Brussels airport. ‘The Loft’ is the new lounge for Business Class guests and frequent flyers, who depart from Brussels Terminal A.

The new lounge is four times the size of the previous lounge and can host 300 passengers. It is made up of eight different “hubs”, each with their own function.

The airline has teamed up with Microsoft and Designit to create a unique digital experience for The Loft via digital lounge assistant app, ‘Connected Lounge’. Guests can borrow a Surface Pro 3 to access the app, which allows them to book shower rooms, meeting rooms and nap boxes, and view the status of their flight. The app can also be downloaded to passengers personal tablets and mobile phones.

As well as state of the art technology, the lounge offers a butler service to assist passengers during their stay, and catering prepared by Autogrill chefs with renowned Belgian brands, such as JAVA coffee and Maredsous prepared cheese.

Lars Redeligx, Brussels Airlines Chief Commercial Officer said the carrier wants to illustrate that the experience of its customers is at the heart of everything they do.

“We want to walk the talk and showcase our new slogan “We go the extra smile”, both on board as well as on the ground,” he said.
