easyJet Introduces 26 new Routes for Summer 2015

Both Essaouira in Morocco and Stuttgart in Germany will both become new destinations, with Stuttgart becoming the eighth German destination offered by the airline.

easyJet will also be the only UK airline offering direct flights to Essaouria, on Morocco’s western coast, with two flights a week from London Luton Airport.

The airline will also be offering weekly flights between Belfast City and Split, as well as flights from Bristol – Lanzarote and Catania twice weekly, and to Gibraltar and Porto three-times weekly. The low-cost carrier will begin flights from Manchester – Porto three-times weekly and to Marseille and Pisa twice weekly.

Routes from London Luton include Antalya and Bodrum twice weekly, and Porto three-times weekly, and from London Gatwick include Brindisi twice weekly and the new Stuttgart route 12 times per week. The airline will operate two new routes from Naples including Athens three-times per week and Olbia four-times weekly.

Toulouse will operate three new routes to Seville thrice weekly and to Agadir and Palma Mallorca two-times per week.

Finally, the airline will operate a route from Glasgow – Bordeaux and Paris Orly – Split both twice weekly, Lyon – Krakow thrice weekly, Nantes – Porto four-times weekly, and Milan Malpensa – Stuttgart six-times weekly.

Sophie Dekkers, easyJet’s UK Director said: “Our new routes are making it easier and more affordable than ever for our customers to travel to a range of summer sun destinations, along with connections to business hubs for our growing proportion of business travellers.”

The new routes on sale will provide over 420,000 additional seats across the entire easyJet network. The airline has also announced Porto in Portugal as a new easyJet base, with UK flights to and from Manchester, Luton and Bristol. The new base hopes to enable the airline to further cement its position in Portugal following from a base in Lisbon which opened in 2012.

“We expect our new destinations to be especially popular with passengers and with a mixture of fantastic summer sun hot spots and short city breaks such as Stuttgart, we are continuing to deliver a network of destinations which provide our customers with flexibility and choice, underlining our commitment to both leisure and business passengers alike,” added Dekkers.

In our analysis, below, we look in greater detail at easyJet's current winter 2014/2015 schedule and highlight itslargest departure points across its network based upon the current week's flight schedule (November 10 -16, 2014). According to OAG Schedules Analyser, this week's schedule is 4.2 per cent larger than the same time last year with double-digit growth being recorded from Basel, Amsterdam Schiphol, London Gatwick and London Luton among its top 15 departure points. easyJet's continued rapid growth at Gatwick Airport means the London facility accounts for 12.6 per cent of its capacity, up from 11.8 per cent last year.
