ANA to Launch Service to Houston

The new daily route will begin operation on June 12, 2015 using Boeing 777-300 aircraft, and will depart Narita at 11:15am, arriving in Houston at 9:30am. The return flight will depart Houston at 11:20, arriving in Narita at 15:20pm.

Houston is the capital of the US oil and energy industry, and its airport is one of the biggest hubs for ANA’s joint venture partner, United Airlines. This will enable ANA to improve access for its passengers into Central and South America via Houston.

ANA will also be increasing its services to Bangkok and Singapore, with the resumption of a second daily service from August 1, 2015 and June 11, 2015 respectively.

Flights from both cities will arrive early morning to allow for passengers to connect to North America cities, and increase the convenience of Asia – North America connections from Narita.

The airline is also planning to increase its Tokyo Haneda – Hong Kong service, offering 10 weekly flights instead of seven, using Boeing 767 aircraft. The service will increase to 14 weekly from March 9, 2015.

Osamu Shinobe, President and CEO of ANA said: "We are very pleased to be launching a new international service from Tokyo to Houston. Houston will be our tenth destination in North America and will provide a great gateway to Central and South America from Japan and many other Asian countries.”

Through code share flights with United Airlines, passengers have access to cities in Mexico as well as other 19 US domestic destinations.

“Together with our joint venture partner United, we are confident that passenger demand will be high and that our expanding network will provide customers with greater choice," he added.

This will be ANA’s tenth route into North America and will be operated in a three-class configuration featuring eight first class seats, 52 business class seats, and 190 economy class seats.

The announcement comes just days after EVA Air began selling tickets on its new Taipei – Houston route, which will launch on June 19, 2015 – increasing the availability even further between Asia and the US oil capital.
