Aberdeen Hosts Energy Brunch Event at Routes Europe

To kick off the start of the Routes Europe 2015 Conference, Aberdeen International Airport will host an Energy Brunch on Sunday morning for key players across the aviation industry. Sponsored by Wood Group, the Energy Brunch will see up to 50 key aviation professionals from across the world meet to hear firsthand how the energy sector will continue its importance to the region, as Europe’s Oil and Gas Hub.

The networking event will allow open discussion surrounding the current challenges faced within the energy sector, and provide a broader understanding of Aberdeen’s role in its future. With key speakers at the heart of the Oil & Gas industry leading the discussions, delegates can garner what strategies are in place currently to ensure the harnessing of the industry to the region for the future.

Key speakers on the day include Oonagh Werngren, Operations Director for Oil & Gas UK, Alastair Green, Group Head for Strategy and Development for Wood Group and David Rennie, International Sector Head for Oil & Gas for Scottish Enterprise.

The brunch forms part of a jam packed agenda for the Routes Europe 2015 Conference opening this weekend with over 1,000 delegates visiting the Region to discuss where airlines will fly in the future, and is the first time that the event is held in the UK.

“Routes Europe 2015 is our chance to showcase Aberdeen to airlines and influential professionals within the aviation industry from across the globe and by holding the Energy Brunch, we hope to address the shift in strategy currently being undertaken within the energy sector, and reiterate that Aberdeen is still very much at the forefront of the oil and gas arena and the wealth of opportunity it holds,” said Carol Benzie, managing director, Aberdeen International Airport.
