Air France brings new look A320 to the Caribbean

European flag carrier, Air France has introduced one of its upgraded Airbus A320 Family aircraft on its network in the Caribbean. This A320, equipped with 168 seats (12 in the Business cabin and 156 in Economy), offers ten additional seats in the Economy cabin, representing a six percent increase in capacity. It arrived in the Caribbean on February 14, 2016 and replaces one of two A320s which operate on its Caribbean regional network.

The airline debuted its new interior within its European medium-haul network in April last year and includes a completely redesigned leather seat. The refreshed interior has been introduced on 24 A319s and 25 A320s and is due to be completed later this year with over 7,800 new seats being installed.

Founding SkyTeam alliance member Air France currently flies long-haul to Martinique and Guadeloupe in the Caribbean using a Boeing 777-300 with up to twice daily flights from Paris Orly with connections being offered by the regional fleet. The locally domiciled A320s fly between Pointe à Pitre, Fort de France, Cayenne, Port au Prince and Miami, operating more than 30 weekly flights between these regional economic centers.

Since last year, Air France has been offering seven new destinations from Pointe à Pitre: Saint Lucia, San Juan, Santo Domingo, St Maarten Grand Case, St Maarten Juliana, St Barthelemy and Dominica, operated on a codeshare basis with Air Antilles. Air France also offers flights between its Paris Charles de Gaulle hub and Havana, Punta Cana and St Maarten.
