Germania offers seasonal schedule from Toulouse into North Africa

Privately-owned German carrier, Germania, continues to take advantage of opportunities outside of its home market to further strengthen its seasonal leisure product in Europe. The latest growth will see it launch flights between Toulouse and Oujda in Eastern Morocco this summer.

The 30 year-old Germania business has been built on flying from major and in particular regional airports in Germany, to popular holiday destinations in the Mediterranean, South East Europe and North Africa. It also offers extensive charter programmes and the Airbus factory shuttle between Hamburg Finkenwerder and Toulouse Blagnac, but is seeking to grow in other international markets.

The company’s base at London Gatwick is constantly being expanded and it now operates on behalf of major tour operators in the UK, Sweden and France to holiday destinations throughout the Mediterranean.

The growth in France will see the introduction of a new weekly link between Toulouse and Oujda. The eastern Moroccan city has a population of almost half a million and is emerging as a popular destination for holidaymakers.

The flight will operate every Monday for a three month period from late June until late September and will be scheduled around the daytime period an aircraft would otherwise be sat idle at the southern French airfield after fulfilling its morning Airbus staff shuttle commitment.

“We are pleased to be able to build on Germania’s many years of expertise and extend our successful product into the French market,” said Karsten Balke, chief executive officer, Germania.

“For the first time, we will offer air travellers a nonstop service from Toulouse to North Africa. Oujda is located in the east of the country and is a perfect destination for those wishing to visit their friends and families, or to explore Morocco,” he added.
