Airline in focus: Wizz Air

Wizz_Air_Logo_2015.jpgEach week we will examine in detail one of the airlines attending an upcoming Routes event. In this edition we analyse Wizz Air, which is attending Routes Africa 2018.

The plan to launch Wizz Air was conceived in June 2003 and its first flight took off on 19 May 2004 from Katowice.

The airline is now the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, operates a fleet of 100 Airbus A320 and Airbus A321 aircraft, and offers more than 600 routes from 25 bases, connecting 142 destinations across 44 countries.

It carried more than 30 million passengers in the year to 31 May 2018.
