Airline in focus: Finnair

Each week we examine in detail one of the airlines attending an upcoming Routes event. In this edition we analyse Finnair, which is attending World Routes 2018.

Finnair, then known as Aero, was founded in 1 November 1923. The airline specialises in passenger and cargo traffic between Asia and Europe.

Helsinki’s geographical location gives Finnair a competitive advantage, since the fastest connections between many European destinations and Asian megacities fly over Finland.

Finnair is the only Nordic network airline with a four-star Skytrax ranking and a member of the oneworld alliance. In 2017, Finnair’s revenues amounted to €2.57bn and it carried almost 12 million passengers.
