Lufthansa was awarded Airline of the Year and Indigo Partners Managing Partner William “Bill” Franke was the 2019 recipient of the Excellence in Leadership Award at the 45th ATW Airline Industry Achievement Awards.

The ceremony took place on 26 March 2019 at the JW Marriott Essex House in New York. Air New Zealand, airBaltic, Spirit Airlines, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, Airlink and the Airbus A220 were also among the winners.

Franke said: “I very much appreciate ATW’s recognition of our commitment to build a network of affordable carriers that make travel possible for many.”
