Jet Airways to compete with Qatar

Jet Airways is preparing to start a daily service linking Delhi with Doha on 21st January.

Currently the Indian carrier serves Doha daily from Mumbai and Kochi.

Capacity will be filled using a 737-800, which will go head-to-head with Qatar Airways’ direct service. Qatar currently has a 15% market share on this route, with the remaining carriers providing an indirect service. These include Emirates (via Dubai), Gulf Air, Oman Air and Etihad Airways.

Nikos Kardassis, Jet Airways’ acting CEO announced: “Doha has been among the more popular destinations in our international network. The launch of our daily services to Doha from Delhi will cater to strong customer demand for direct flights on the route."
