Skyteam member Aeromexico plans to launch a new non-stop daily service from Mexico City to San Jose, Costa Rica. The new route will be operated using a B737 aircraft.

Aeromexico will face competition on the route from Mexicana, which operates an 11-times weekly service with a mix of A318/320 aircraft. The carrier also flies to Lacsa seven-times weekly.

BSP data shows that over 87,000 pax flew the route between Oct 08-09 with Mexicana having a passenger share of 60%.
