Following JAL's announcement earlier this month that it would cut its Hanoi to Osaka service, Vietnam Airlines has quickly stepped to fill the gap.

Five-times weekly (direct) flights have now begun as the carrier looks to expansion in the Japanese market.

It reported traffic of 9.3 million passengers last year- up from 8.8 million the previous year.
