Venezuelan carrier Santa Barbara Airlines has revealed that from 01 June to 30 September it will increase scheduled weekly frequency from 5-6 weekly flights from Caracas to Madrid. Santa Barbara currently operates B767 aircraft on the sector. It will face competition from the following airlines;

• Iberia 7x weekly A340 mix
• Air Europa 5x weekly A330-200
• Conviasa 3x weekly A340-200

IATA BSP data shows that over 180,000 passengers have flown the city pairs non stop and indirectly with Iberia having a market share of 38% on its non stop services.
