SAS eyes Stockholm – Tokyo in Oct 2010

An interview report appeared on 30MAR09 of Japanese travel press states that SAS is looking to launch Stockholm – Tokyo Narita service starting October 2010. It plans to operate 3 weekly service.

This comes to the new bilateral deal signed last year between Japan and Scandinavian countries. Under the agreement, carriers from Scandinavian nation (Denmark, Sweden, Norway) can operate up to 7 weekly flights on 1 single route. SAS currently operates Daily Copenhagen – Tokyo.

In addition, SAS also expressed its interest to launch Tokyo Haneda service, and is looking to increase number of flights to Tromso from Tokyo, as well as other potential tourist destinations catering to the Japanese market.
