EVA re-configured 747 enters service

EVA Air’s 1st refurbished Boeing 747-400 will be entering service on 15JUN07 on the Taipei – Los Angeles route.

The refurbished 747 cabin interior will be identical to 777-300ER. First Class service will be eliminated. The upper deck of the 747 will feature world’s largest economy class seat pitch, at 35″ ~ 36″.

The 747 will be flying along with the 777-300ER on Taipei – Los Angeles before it switches to Taipei – Vancouver from 28AUG07. At the meantime 777-300ER will be operating 2 weekly flight on Taipei – Vancouver from 23JUN07 to 27AUG07, in addition to existing 3 weekly 747 flight.

Eventually all North American flights excluding Vancouver will be operated by 777-300ER. There will be 3 747 be reconfigured, and flying to Vancouver and other long-haul destinations.
