Nauru’s national carrier goes under again

The AUSTRALIAN on Friday (08JUN07) reports that Nauru’s national carrier, Our Airlines, which relaunched last year, will cease operation from July.

Its only Boeing 737-400, suffered mechanical problem, forcing flight cancellation on Tuesday, stranding more than 10 passengers for over a week.

Air Nauru’s successor carrier was relaunched in 2006 after Taiwan purchased the 737 for Nauru.

Our Airlines currently operates Majuro – Tarawa – Nauru – Honiara – Brisbane. Fiji denied the landing rights for the airline, making it unviable for offering the service without a link to Fiji.
