The future of Saudia with Jaan Albrecht

Saudia CEO Jaan Albrecht reveals how the carrier will focus on expanding into Europe and countries with high Muslim populations.

Saudia is an airline with ambitious growth plans. With up to 100 Airbus A320 family aircraft on order, including 15 A321XLRs, it now has the capability to fly non-stop to Jeddah and almost all of Europe.

Coupled with a new government policy which enables visitors from 49 countries to apply for electronic visas, making travel to Saudi Arabia far easier than before, the carrier's CEO Jaan Albrecht believes the time is right to expand.

“It’s opening up totally new markets,” Albrecht said. “The interest from airports huge.”

In this podcast, Albrecht shares detail about the growth strategy, including how its low-cost subsidiary flyadeal will become a feeder for Saudia at international hubs.
