ROUTES AFRICA: Lufthansa Switches PrivatAir Operation in Africa

Posted 02/07/2011

German national carrier Lufthansa is to modify its schedules to Africa this winter, including switching routes operated by Privat Air on its behalf using Next-Generation Boeing 737 equipment.  It currently utilises a Boeing 737-800 on its four times weekly Frankfurt – Khartoum route.  However, during the Northern Winter schedule it will instead serve the Sudanese capital using an Airbus A340-300 with a stop in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia en route.

The change will enable Lufthansa to introduce a 737-800 on its Frankfurt – Accra route.  This is presently served five times weekly by an Airbus A330-300, but from the end of October will operate to a daily schedule with the 737-800.  The aircraft is configured in a two class arrangement with 32 Business Class and 60 Economy seats.

Schedule:

Frankfurt – Accra
LH566 FRA1405 – 1955ACC 73H D
LH567 ACC2135 – 0510+1FRA 73H D

Frankfurt – Khartoum
LH590 FRA1125 – 1850JED1945 – 2145KRT 343 x145
