ASM North America launches TakeOff

Taking place in 2018 for the first time, this event will be held at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis from 29-30 October. TakeOff is being supported by Memphis International Airport (MEM) and Memphis Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB), and will include targeted, pre-scheduled and Fast Track Face-to-face Meetings with Network Planners as well as a dedicated air service development conference program.

“We are thrilled to serve as the host airport for TakeOff 2018 and to introduce Memphis and the mid-south to our visitors. This event is focused on smaller and non-hub airports, and allows them a focused opportunity to meet with airlines to increase their air service. MEM is looking forward to connecting with both airlines and our airport counterparts as we continue to pursue frequent and affordable air service.” Scott Brockman, president and chief executive, Memphis International Airport.

This two day event includes ½ day conference program and 1 ½ day scheduled meetings as well as informal social evening and industry networking opportunities. It is a platform for airline-airport face-to-face meetings in the US designed with smaller airports in mind.

TakeOff is being delivered by ASM North America, who will be on-site to provide guidance in best practice as well as educational air service development sessions. ASM North America is the new branch of the world’s leading air service development consultancy, ASM (Airport Strategy & Marketing), which has assisted airports, airlines, tourism authorities and governments in the development of new air services since 1993.

"There are a greater number of smaller airports than larger ones, but there wasn't a speed-dating style conference focused on them that can attract all the airlines they need to meet with until now", said Ilona Cambron. "Now these airports can leverage ASM's 25 year history of supporting air service development worldwide with the special attention they deserve right here in the heartland of the United States with our new event in Memphis, Tennessee." Ilona Cambron, director – air service development, ASM North America.
