Aegean eyeing Europe expansion

Aegean Airlines has announced it will expand its European routes next year when it takes delivery of new Airbus A320 and 321 aircraft.

The airline plans to add flights to Brussels, Berlin, Barcelona, Vienna and Venice next summer, but stressed it was not interested in rival Olympic Airlines.

"We are implementing our business plan and the expansion of our international network. Having followed a prudent course over the years we have sound foundations to proceed with our growth plans despite the economic slowdown," Aegean's chief executive, Dimitris Gerogiannis, told reporters.
