HK Express has announced a number of service increases on operations across both Japan and Korea during the summer 2015 season, as well as a new service to China.

The airline has announced plans to increase services on its Hong Kong – Seoul Incheon route from 14 to 18 weekly, from March 29, 2015. Hong Kong’s low-fare airline will also increase service frequency on its Hong Kong – Osaka Kansai route, from 14 to 17 weekly effective from April 8 to May 2, 2015.

Finally, the airline will increase frequency on its Hong Kong – Busan route from 6 to 7 weekly, effective from March 29, 2015.

The airline also recently announced its plans to increase its China network by adding a new service to Wuxi. In combination with the existing HK Express Ningbo route, the Wuxi route will offer passengers the option to easily plan tours around one of China’s greatest cultural regions.

You can learn more about the plans of Hong Kong Express at this year's Routes Asia in Kunming, Yunnan, China between March 15-17, 2015.  The airline's Andrew Cowen, Deputy Chief Executive Officer will be on a panel session entitled 'Expansion of LCCs in China and North Asia' during the Routes Asia Strategy Summit

“Our network in the area offers Guests an easy way to plan a gourmet tour of the delightful Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces, for example, by using our Hong Kong-Wuxi and Hong Kong-Ningbo routes,” said Luke Lovegrove, Commercial Director for HK Express.

The new route will commence on April 10, 2015, four-times-weekly on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

HK Express has recently recorded a record amount of year-on-year growth in terms of passenger numbers, registering a 160 percent increase for January.

Total passengers for the month amounted to 151,306, which represents an increase of 160 percent in the same month compared to 2014.

HK Express has attributed the success to their growth strategy in North Asia, with flights to Tokyo and Osaka proving incredibly popular with travellers. The airline has been rapidly expanding its footprint in both Japan and Korea, and currently offers 54 flights to Japan every week.

Andrew Cowen, Deputy CEO of HK Express said, “North-Asia continued to be a key driver of growth for HK Express. Passenger traffic has experienced a significant year-on-year growth of 352% in January for North-Asia. The dramatic leap in passenger numbers attests to the success of our strategy to offer consistently affordable fares that make air travel accessible to everyone.

HK Express flies to 18 popular destinations throughout Asia, including Da Nang in Vietnam (commencing 1 April) and Siem Reap in Cambodia (commencing 1 October).
