A strengthened Ängelholm Helsingborg Airport is ready for new airline partnerships
Ängelholm Helsingborg Airport is entering a new phase of growth together with its municipal owners and regional partners. With strong performance, a revitalised market and a clear regional commitment, we are now ready to welcome new airline partners for 2026 and beyond.
Making an investment
Ängelholm Helsingborg Airport is ready to step up. After several years of focused consolidation, we are now prepared to rebuild the network and bring back more airlines than before the pandemic.
Our owners in the region have committed to long-term development of the airport and our role in the regional transport infrastructure. We are ready to invest time, resources and marketing support into sustainable and successful new routes. The message is simple. We are prepared to go for it.
Performance
Northwest Skåne has shown a stable recovery and a strong structural demand profile. The airport has delivered consistent improvements across both business and leisure segments during the past two years, supported by a robust regional economy and a broad mix of industries with regular travel needs.
Load factors on existing routes continue to perform well, with healthy seasonal peaks and solid year round base demand. The business market remains one of the strongest in southern Sweden, driven by companies within manufacturing, logistics, engineering, food production, retail headquarters and the fast growing visitor economy.
Leisure travel has also strengthened, with a clear shift toward international weekend and short break travel, as well as strong summer demand from the wider catchment. The region’s population growth and expanded labour market area have further increased the natural travel base.
The airport serves a catchment area of around 500,000 people within a one hour drive, providing airlines with a predictable and diversified passenger mix. This combination of corporate stability and growing leisure demand creates favourable conditions for both year round and seasonal routes.
Pairing up with destinations in the region

We work closely with our municipal owners to strengthen the destination as a whole. Northwest Skåne is a recognised food and wine region with strong culinary brands, award winning restaurants and vineyard experiences. The region is also home to some of Sweden’s best golf courses, coastal nature, high quality outdoor recreation and several established visitor destinations.
This unified regional approach means that airlines entering our market receive destination support, coordinated promotion and strong alignment between the airport, municipalities and tourism stakeholders.
What 2026-2027 will look like
The coming years will focus on sustainable growth, strategic route development and improved passenger experience. Key priorities include:
- Expanding the international route offering
- Strengthening business travel connectivity
- Growing the leisure segment through targeted destination partnerships
- Continued development of infrastructure and operational efficiency
- A long term commitment to fossil free airport operations and environmental performance
We see 2026 to 2027 as a period of opportunity and are ready to partner with airlines that want to grow with us.
