About The Airport

Roanoke-Blacksburg Airport (ROA) is located in the heart of southwestern Virginia's beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and serves over 1.6 million people within a 2 hour drive, including the Roanoke, Blacksburg-Christiansburg-Radord, and Lynchburg MSAs. Positioned on I-581 just 3 miles from I-81 and 3 miles from downtown Roanoke, ROA is well positioned to serve southwestern Virginia as well as much of West Virginia and northern North Carolina.

An outdoor lovers paradise and growing business sector, ROA recorded an all-time record total passengers (756K+) in 2024. As airlines added frequency, capcity and new routes, leakage dropped and the trend continues in 2025.

ROA currently enjoys daily flights by American, Delta and United Airlines to ATL, CLT, IAD, ORD, PHL and LGA, and Allegiant provides weekly service to SFB, PIE and SRQ.
