About The Airport
Aeropuertos Uruguay is part of Corporación América Airports (CAAP), a global leader in airport management operating 52 airports in six countries. Since 2003, the company has been committed to connecting Uruguay with the world through the management of a network of eight international airports and Latin America Cargo City (LACC), a multimodal logistics platform located at Carrasco International Airport.
As part of this network, Aeropuertos Uruguay has been responsible since 2003 for the administration, operation, commercial management, and maintenance of Carrasco International Airport, the country’s main gateway. Its new terminal, inaugurated in December 2009 and designed by renowned architect Rafael Viñoly, has a capacity of 4.5 million passengers per year and has received multiple international awards.
The network is completed by Punta del Este International Airport and the international airports of Carmelo, Durazno, Paysandú, Salto, Melo, and Rivera, strengthening Uruguay’s connectivity and development.
In 2025, 2.144.071 passengers traveled through Carrasco International Airport, marking the highest number of passengers in its history.
