3rd International Airport of Florianópolis – Brazil
4th Galeão Airport (Rio de Janeiro) – Brazil
5th Kingston – Jamaica
One of the factors that led to the increase in cargo volume was the growth in the client portfolio. In the first six months of this year, the number of companies using the terminal in the capital of Santa Catarina was 42% higher than in the first half of 2024. Importers benefit from regular routes to the main logistics hubs in the US and Europe, as well as the modern infrastructure with the ability to receive and store goods that require temperature control. With 80% of cargo released in less than 24 hours, operational efficiency also attracts companies.
The opening of a new cargo terminal, the expansion of airline operations, such as Latam Cargo which began operating the route to Europe just over a year ago, the arrival of TAP Air Portugal in September 2024, and the growth in volume handled in recent months by the flight to Panama, operated by Copa Airlines, also contribute to this growth.
Currently, two cargo airlines operate at Floripa Airport Cargo – Latam Cargo and Avianca Cargo – they operate 5 flights per week, connecting Santa Catarina to Miami, in North America, and to Brussels and Frankfurt, in Europe. In the first half of 2025, the two companies together registered a 32% increase in the number of shipments at the Santa Catarina terminal.
