Sustainable project: Zurich Airport Brazil begins construction of solar power plant at Macaé Airport.
Macaé Airport, managed by Zurich Airport Brazil, is taking an important step towards sustainability with the construction of its own solar power plant.
Construction has already begun, and energy generation is scheduled to start in February 2026.
With a capacity of 1 MW and 1,455 solar panels, the plant will be able to meet 100% of the airport's energy demand, ensuring an operation fully powered by clean energy. In addition to the positive environmental impact, the initiative will provide monthly savings of 49% in electricity costs, reinforcing Zurich Airport Brazil's commitment to efficiency and innovation.
The total investment in the project is R$ 2.8 million, reaffirming the company's strategy of implementing sustainable solutions at the airports under its management.
