Natal Airport registers 3.6% growth in the first half of 2025.
Natal International Airport, located in São Gonçalo do Amarante and operated by Zurich Airport Brasil, ended the first half of 2025 with 1,190,636 passengers transported, according to operational data from the concessionaire that manages the terminal.
This number represents a 3.6% increase compared to the same period in 2024, when 1,147,528 passengers were recorded.
The increase reflects the consistent recovery of the aviation sector and reinforces the terminal's importance as the main gateway to Rio Grande do Norte. Both domestic and international flights showed an increase during the period.
Among the airlines, Gol Linhas Aéreas led in passenger traffic, with 423,163 travelers transported, representing 36% of the total. Next were Latam, with 409,748 passengers (34%), and Azul, with 300,719 passengers (25%).
In the international market, TAP Air Portugal continues to stand out on the Natal-Lisbon route, transporting 36,746 passengers and maintaining a 3% share of total arrivals and departures at the terminal.
According to Ricardo Gesse, CEO of Zurich Airport Brazil, the numbers reflect the joint effort between the concessionaire, airlines, and public agencies to expand the state's connectivity: “The increase in the number of passengers reflects our commitment to offering an ever-improving experience and expanding connections. We believe that 2026 will be even better with the start of JetSMART operations, and we are working strategically to consolidate the airport as a partner for tourism and the region's economy.”
JetSMART, a Chilean airline known for its low-cost operations, will operate flights between Natal and Buenos Aires starting December 30, 2025. The announcement was made earlier this month.
